Super Bowl search stats from Google: Packers prefer guacamole, Terrible Towels selling like hotcakes

If you're a football fan, or you're simply into delicious statistics, take a look at Google's Packers vs. Steelers search analysis. Apparently Googlers are sports fans too, and as the big G has offices in both Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, it thought that some good ol' Google Insights analysis was in order.

There's a ton of graphs which we're not going to replicate here, but here's some highlights:

Incidentally, the humble but oh-so-tasty chicken wing reaches its peak during the Super Bowl, too.

Spanish Convent Gives Facebook Savvy Nun the Boot [Wtf]

I was hitting Command-r for the eightieth time this afternoon on Facebook when I stumbled across this story about a Spanish nun who was expelled from her order for spending too much time on Facebook. That's ridiculous! Dislike! More »

Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac hits the App Store

Unveiled back in October of 2010, Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac is now available for download from the Mac App Store. Amazingly, visiting that link in your Web browser won't force a divide by zero error.

While we still find Windows Phone 7 and OS X to be strange bedfellows, those of you who need to sync your photos, music, videos, and podcasts from iTunes will find the Connector extremely helpful. The app will also allow you to push Windows Phone 7 updates to your device as they become available.

Engadget's Chris Ziegler would like to see a full Zune client for Mac, but that's unlikely to happen until Microsoft decides how to fully re-brand Zune as a member of the Windows Live family.

Samsung Galaxy S 4G will actually cost $200, unfortunately

Here's a quick heads-up, if you had your heart set on Samsung's Galaxy S 4G: T-Mobile says it'll actually cost $199.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. That means you're paying $250 out the door for an HSPA+ capable Vibrant, not counting taxes and related fees. T-Mobile says the original $150 price was a mistake on its part, and while you're welcome to bring as many false advertising lawsuits as you'd like, we doubt you'll get very far.

BMW puts a range-extending ICE in its Megacity EV, provides tonic for your range anxiety

When we first left the safe confines of our parents' home, many of us experienced separation anxiety. As we grow older, we suffer from disconnection anxiety -- and no, iPhone owners, that doesn't refer to your fear of dropped calls. Now, BMW is combating our range anxiety, or fear of being stranded when your car's batteries run out of juice, by putting an internal combustion range extender in its Megacity EV. BMW is taking a page out of the Chevy Volt's playbook by placing a small ICE in its EV that doubles the range of the vehicle from 50 to 100 miles -- all in an effort to assuage the (irrational?) fears of its potential US customers. The gasoline generator will be an option for those who wish to venture beyond the city limits, so if you want to keep it totally green you can still do so. Our Bavarian friends won't be bringing the Megacity to market until 2013, so that should give you enough time to decide if you want to hasten the death of the ICE or prolong its life a bit longer.
